AIN Presents "The Sands - A Retro Nightclub Experience" at 2616 Commerce Events Center

| The Hunter Sullivan combo entertains patrons at AIN Presentes "The Sands - A Retro Nightclub Experience" |
Event organizers couldn’t have chosen a better venue with their selection of 2616 Commerce Events Center as the host site. Raw brick walls, high backed banquettes and a Deep Ellum address helped reinforce a 1960s vibe that was made all the more special by a fashion show presented by Vintage Martini. Vocalist Hunter Sullivan crooned mad men tunes for a late night 9 pm - Midnight event that also featured serious libations with an open bar.
The crowd came dressed to kill with many arriving in Mad Men inspired fashions and with happy bouffants soaring to the skies, fabulous eyewear and hats, gloves and shoes that would make Jackie Onassis proud. Impeccably dressed gentlemen and elegantly clad ladies helped make the swinging vibe of the event truly swing, with specialty cocktails from event sponsor Amadora Tequila and an open bar fueling the evening. Attendees received swag bags, noshed on an impressive spread of delicious appetizers from Timm Chamberlain and enjoyed a night of dancing and sparkling conversation. The always fabulous Steve Kemble, America’s sassiest lifestyle guru, hosted the Vintage Martini fashion show with a running commentary that had the audience in stitches. DJ Tony Dean turned the energy up several notches for the last hour of the party to close out the night with contemporary dancing that left the crown wanting more long after last call.
The event also served as an announcement party and logo reveal for the organization’s signature spring gala – Bloomin Ball. With a new venue this year at the Renaissance Hotel, Dallas Light and Sound is looking forward to providing production services as AIN starts a second decade of spring fundraising events. Set for June 3rd, 2017, additional information will be forthcoming soon.
Dallas Light and Sound provided a concert quality audio system for the Hunter Sullivan Combo with Hunter delivering his era appropriate vocals on an Electrovoice “Raven” Microphone, one of several specialty mics in our inventory. Gobos on opposing walls and rotating on the dancefloor were augmented with flatscreen televisions to recognize sponsors, supply event branding, and convey beneficiary messaging. Dancefloor lighting, stage set lighting for the band backdrop, and fashion show lighting rounded out our list of production services for the night.

Diverse Events +More Make for a Wonderful April...
Dallas Light and Sound is thankful to our clients for providing a very busy and creative April, with three very diverse events already completed, weddings at Texas Discovery Gardens, a Friday night date with Audrey Hepburn, and one more major event to go before month end. Two of April's events took place at the Frontiers of Flight Museum - one of our favorite facilities in Dallas. A fashion show followed by a gala fundraiser saw two different approaches to the space. To find out more about all four, read on!
Fashion CITED 2014 - A Style Event:
Legal Hospice of Texas turned out a record breaking crowd for Fashion Cited: A Style Event 2014, held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
2014 Honorary Chair Rhonda Sargent Chambers, the honorary host committee, the Lawyers of Style, WFAA New Anchor Ron Corning as MC, and some of the biggest names in fashion came together for one of the most anticipated and exciting fashion shows in North Texas! Cocktails, appetizers, and fashion were part of the program at this popular fundraiser and style showcase.
Proceeds from the event benefit Legal Hospice of Texas, a non-profit organization providing legal services at no charge to low-income individuals who are terminally ill or HIV positive. This organization serves over 800 people annually in 16 counties through out North Texas. Legal Hospice strives to create a community where people, regardless of health or economic status, have access to justice. www.legalhospice.org
Now in our 6th year of providing event planning and production services for Fashion CITED, Dallas Light and Sound designed the floorplan for the show and provided staging, audio, lighting, pipe and drape, video projection, linens, DJ services, sponsor reel creation, and set design for the event. Emmy Winner Leslie Jordan
Our second major event for April involved turning a nightclub into a theatre to host a performance by actor, author and comic - Emmy Award Winner Leslie Jordan.
Who knew.... a country saloon transformed into a theater? Dallas Light and Sound, under the direction of event designer Craig Canant, transformed the Round Up Saloon and Dancehall into a seated performance venue for the Dallas appearance of comic, actor and author Leslie Jordan. With Co-Emcess Ron Corning from WFAA News 8 Daybreak and America's Sassiest Lifestyle Guru Steve Kembel, more than 300 patrons turned out to support the US House candidacy of Oklahoma's Al McAfree. Dallas Light and Sound provided floorplans, staging, set and set design, leopard carpet and linens for the event which was organized by Dallas' Man About Town David Andrews.
