Burgers and Burgundy Benefitting DIFFA/Dallas Is a Smashing Sucess
On Friday, October 3rd,
Dallas’ stylish and charitable socialites gathered with celebrity chefs at the gorgeous
estate of Bill and Karen Seanor to
attend and produce the sixth annual Burgers and Burgundy event benefitting
DIFFA/Dallas. Celebrity chef John
Tesar of local hot spots Knife
and Spoon
rounded up his top chef friends to prepare bite-size burgers paired with
Burgundy wines and cocktails which guests sipped
while enjoying inspired
creations, which ranged from traditional beef burgers to versions with lamb,
turkey and pulled pork. Many of the grills during this sexy outdoor celebration
were the following chefs:
Patton
Robertson (Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck), John Tesar (Knife & Spoon Bar
& Kitchen), Kent Rathbun
(Abacus), Brian Zenner (Oak), Nick Jimenez (Cook Hall), Blaine Staniford (Grace), Kevin Williamson (Ranch 616), Samir Dhurandhar (Nick & Sam’s), Stephen Rogers (Gemma), Kyle Mcclelland (Proof and Pantry), Tre Wilcox (Cooking Concepts by Tre
Wilcox ), T.J. Lengnick
(Shinsei), Sharon Van Meter
(3015 Trinity Groves).
As guests arrived many took the
opportunity to purchase a ticket for the Park Place Volvo raffle benefitting
DIFFA/Dallas. Lighting for the car at the entrance and for the entire event was
designed, provided and installed by Dallas Light and Sound. This sixth annual
edition of Burgers and Burgundy is the second to take place at the Seanor
estate – but the first to take place predominantly at night. Neale Jones with
Dallas Light and Light Sound worked closely with event co-chairs Noel Rodriguez and Lee
Borchert, to devise a plan to provide guests with an “illuminated” experience.
Jones is a former Board of Directors Member of DIFFA Dallas and is the only
person in the organization’s history to chair their annual gala event twice.
Cafe
lighting installed by Dallas Light and Sound illuminated the main food service
area, with each chef station spotlighted so that the chefs and their staff
could see to prepare the food. A special welcome area from event sponsor
Celebrity Cruises featured a photo op and gift bags, also illuminated with
lighting from Dallas Light and Sound.
DIFFA/Dallas’ Chairman of the Board, Clint Bradley, took the stage mid evening to announce that this year marks the 25th Celebration of DIFFA/Dallas’ annual gala, House of DIFFA, to be held on March 7, 2015 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas. Bradley announced that the upcoming gala, set for March 7, 2015, at the Omni Dallas, will have a theme that pays tribute to the organization’s place during the past 25 years in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In
addition to lighting the entrance, main food service area, and the Celebruty
Cruise experience, Dallas Light and Sound provided lighting for the stage and
for the adjacent dancelfoor, which Hunter Sullivan and his band kept jumping
throughout the night. At the end of the evening, a playlist provided by Craig
Canant from Dallas Light and Sound closed out the night.

Two Stages at Razzle Dazzle Dallas Provide Diverse Entertainment in Main Street Garden
Razzle Dazzle Dallas took over Downtown Dallas's Main Street Garden Park for a rousing celebration and festival of entertainment on Saturday, June 8th - and Dallas Light and Sound was there with audio, lighting, staging and flatscreens for sponsor recognition. With two stages for entertainment, one located on each side of the park, the Razzle Dazzle committee event producers provided two showcases for their cavalcade of diverse entertainment for event attendees. Featuring three sets in a festival spanning performance by "The Bright" on the Bud Light Main Stage, the evening also included The Women's Chorus and The Turtle Creek Chorale on the community stage. A hi-nrg performance from the Rose Room Girls, a flash mob photo event directed by emcee Patti Le Plaesafe, soloists, a country duet, a comic, and a DJ at the Red Bull DJ pavilion meant the evening was chock full of ever-changing entertainment.
On The Bud Light Main Stage, Dallas Light and Sound provided large format audio and a custom lighting design and installation that captivated the crowd. With color changing LED Panels and an array of LED and conventional Par cans, intelligent lighting on truss, and ample fog... the lighting for this performance stage enhanced the energy present on the stage. Audio on the main stage was anchored by a 24 channel Behringer mixing board with dual on-board vocal effects, an amplifier array, and major speaker arrays flanking the stage.
Meanwhile on the Community Stage on the opposite end of Main Street Garden, showstopping performances included the Rose Room Girls and the Turtle Creek Chorale. Members of The Chorale entertained the crowd with their voices captured by an array of Audio Technica condenser mics, allowing the group to perform with crowding around traditional hand-held mics. Lighting for the Community Stage came from two truss towers, strategically positioned to flank the stage and cross light the performance area.
The old Statler Hotel and numerous other buildings provided a beautiful backdrop for the night. The Statler also served as a surface for gobo projections that appeared as the highlight of a media photography event, shown below. With the Red Bull Pagoda anchoring the center of the park space, and a VIP Lounge sponsored by Kru vodka, event attendees had plenty of focal points to fill the 5+ hours of Razzle Dazzle.12/2/12

Attendees at The
Great Gatsby "The Cat's Meow" enjoyed an afternoon of libations
served by Bar 10 events, delicious bites from Doug Boster Catering and Wendy
Krispin, and electric entertainment from headliner Hunter Sullivan and emcee
Neale Jones. Benefiting AIN, the event raised thousands to support AIN's
programs and services for people living with AIDS. Dallas Light and Sound
provided production services for The Great Gatsby including a sophisticated
audio installation both in and outside of the house , linens, highboys,
stanchions and a cocktail tent for the event.
Dallas Light and
Sound chose one of our Electrovoice "Raven" microphones to capture
Sullivan's voice. The Raven microphone combines
gorgeous, streamlined, modern design with the latest sound engineering and
technology to offer sonic detail and clarity unparalleled in the industry. This
stylish microphone excels at capturing vocals and instruments in studio and on
stage. Dallas LIght and Sound has three raven mics in our inventory and used two of them at the event, one for vocalist Hunter Sullivan and one to provide amplification for the Grand Piano seen in the background. We channelled both voice and piano out onto the veranda and through the garden grounds at the home of hostess Faye Briggs.![]() |

The exposure led Jordan to the attention of Norwegian production team Stargate and American rapper Jay-Z, who both went on to sign her to their label, StarRoc their joint label.
Jordan's debut single, "Happiness", was released in September 2010, and reached number one in the Netherlands and Norway, and also became a top-three hit in Australia and the United Kingdom. In the United States, the song reached No. 1 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart, becoming Jordan's first No. 1 single on that chart. Jordan has confirmed via Twitter that her new album is anticipated for release in 2012.
Joining Jordan at Red Party will be the sounds of DJ / Producer Corey Craig who continues to redefine the current sound of house music and electrify the club scene.
