Diverse Events +More Make for a Wonderful April...

Dallas Light and Sound is thankful to our clients for providing a very busy and creative April, with three very diverse events already completed, weddings at Texas Discovery Gardens, a Friday night date with Audrey Hepburn, and one more major event to go before month end. Two of April's events took place at the Frontiers of Flight Museum - one of our favorite facilities in Dallas. A fashion show followed by a gala fundraiser saw two different approaches to the space. To find out more about all four, read on!

Fashion CITED 2014 - A Style Event:

Rehearsals are underway at Fashion CITED 2014 - A Style Event.
An elevated seating area in the center of the runway is only one of the unique design elements
envisioned by Dallas Light and Sound for this event held at Frontiers of Flight Museum.
Standing and seating areas are ready to receive guests at Fashion CITED 2014
held at Frontiers of Flight Museum.
The finale of Fashion CITED 2014 - A Style Event proved why this
fashion show is one of the most eagerly anticipated of the year
Legal Hospice of Texas turned out a record breaking crowd for Fashion Cited: A Style Event 2014, held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.

2014 Honorary Chair Rhonda Sargent Chambers, the honorary host committee, the Lawyers of Style, WFAA New Anchor Ron Corning as MC, and some of the biggest names in fashion came together for one of the most anticipated and exciting fashion shows in North Texas! Cocktails, appetizers, and fashion were part of the program at this popular fundraiser and style showcase.

Proceeds from the event benefit Legal Hospice of Texas, a non-profit organization providing legal services at no charge to low-income individuals who are terminally ill or HIV positive. This organization serves over 800 people annually in 16 counties through out North Texas. Legal Hospice strives to create a community where people, regardless of health or economic status, have access to justice. www.legalhospice.org

Emmy Winner Leslie Jordan

Our second major event for April involved turning a nightclub into a theatre to host a performance by actor, author and comic - Emmy Award Winner Leslie Jordan.

The Round-Up Saloon is a country dancehall -and our job was o turn it inot a performance venue
suitable for an Emmy Award Winner.

Emmy Award Winner Leslie Jordan is unbelievably funny.
He looks great standing in front of an exclusive Stage Backdrop designed
and installed by Dallas Light and Sound.
Who knew.... a country saloon transformed into a theater? Dallas Light and Sound, under the direction of event designer Craig Canant, transformed the Round Up Saloon and Dancehall into a seated performance venue for the Dallas appearance of comic, actor and author Leslie Jordan. With Co-Emcess Ron Corning from WFAA News 8 Daybreak and America's Sassiest Lifestyle Guru Steve Kembel, more than 300 patrons turned out to support the US House candidacy of Oklahoma's Al McAfree. Dallas Light and Sound provided floorplans, staging, set and set design, leopard carpet and linens for the event which was organized by Dallas' Man About Town David Andrews.

The No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party is a benefit to raise funds for AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD), which provides housing and supportive services for low-income and formerly homeless men, women, children and families living with HIV/AIDS.

How does the event work?

Generous, fun people will host social gatherings – from backyard barbecues for 6 to formal dinners for 30+. The dinners will be casual or formal, large or small, gourmet to potluck. In return for their host’s hospitality, guests are asked to make a suggested donation of $50 or more to ASD. All dinner proceeds will go toward housing and supportive services for ASD clients.

On April 12, 2014 all dinner hosts and guests are invited to Frontiers of Flight Museum for a dessert celebration with entertainment, dancing, coffee and delightful desserts donated by some of Dallas’s finest caterers and restaurants. Fabulous items from Dallas designers, restaurants and stores will be available for bidding at the Auction. More than 2,000 are expected to attend, with nearly 200 volunteers contributing to the effort.
