More Than 1500 Attend No Tie Dinner at Frontiers of Flight Museum

A huge crowd of patrons turn out for No Tie Dinner 2012.
More than 1500 ASD patrons turned out on March 24th for No Tie Dinner, an evening of food, drink and entertainment benefiting AIDS Services of Dallas. The dessert portion of the evening was held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. The evening saw both silent and live auctions bring in tens of thousands for the agency. With a revised format under the guidance of event chair David Nelson, the addition of live entertainment, video messages from ASD supporters, and a new layout for the floor, the evening was in many ways like none that had come before.

No Tie Dinner is a complicated event to produce, with attendees starting the evening at dozens of private homes and restaurants before converging on Frontiers of Flight for a dessert party and the end of the night festivities. Adding video and a performance this year, Nelson relied on Dallas Light and Sound to deliver the look for the evening. Another first for the event saw DLS provide professional silent auction lighting, which helped patrons see what they were bidding upon, read bid sheets, and place bids!

A sophisticated, custom designed DJ booth, concert quality audio including audio on the upstairs mezzanine, stretch spandex video screens, and black and white linens rounded out the look. Branding for the event included projection of the No Tie Logo in gobo format on the elevator shaft leading to the upstairs mezzanine. Uplighting in the upstairs art and auction lounge extended the event's signature color of teal throughout the facility.

Touching Moments Shared at Attitudes and Attire Luncheon

Providing audio, video and lighting for Fashion Shows is a major part of our business.....  However sometimes "The Show" isn't the most memorable part of the overall experience.

The photos at left were taken at the Attitudes and Attire 15th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon held at the Dallas Market Center and show one of the clients of the agency recounting her personal triumphs after availing herself of the amazing services offered by this Dallas based charity. Crystal clear audio from Dallas Light and Sound delivered memorable and touching moments as clients of the agency recounted how the programs and resources at Attitudes and Attire had propelled them to secure meaningful jobs and thus be able to leave lives of drug abuse and prostitution and poverty behind. Three clients spoke powerfully of how this organization has changed their lives forever. Some clients of Attitudes and Attire have troubled pasts involving use of drugs and alcohol, some are victims of domestic violence, and some just victims of the economy. Each story was different and powerful, and each with a happy ending. The tools Attitudes and Attire provides for their clients result in life changing opportunities.

Attitudes and Attire’s multi-tiered programs instill in women the resources necessary for gaining confidence and self-worth—enabling them to get back into the workplace. Attitudes and Attire workshops focus on self-esteem, communication skills, interview preparation and work ethic.

And then there was the show....... Elements, a Dallas clothing boutique located at 4400 Lovers Lane, provided stunning fashions which were modeled by professional models and local celebrities and style trendsetters. Amy Vanderoef from Good Morning Texas, actress and model LeeAnne Locken, the ever-stylish Allison Volk with Plan B PR, and many more philanthropic women were spotted on the catwalk.
With tens of thousands of dollars raised and an enjoyable and memorable experience delivered for the crowd, Attitudes and Attire 15th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon was a tremendous success!

More than a hundred influential fashion industry experts and North Texas style setters turned out on March 1st to meet Ashley Burghardt and celebrate her win on television's 24-Hour Catwalk with a night of cocktails, fashion and music at the Candle Room. The event showcased the Ashard Richley 2012 collection of handbags, and saw the head designer and co-founder debut her Spring 2012 apparel collection.
Ashley Burghardt was chosen by D-Magazine in 2010 as one of Dallas’s Ten Most Beautiful Women and is also listed amongst the state’s top twenty designers by Texas’ Next Top Designer. She has served as a coach to a young Dallas girl on MTV’s hit show, Made. Her most recent triumph was on the new Lifetime series 24 Hour Catwalk where she competed against three other talented designers to craft a three look collection from designated materials within a period of only 24 hours. Ashley’s design championed the runway and secured the monetary grand prize of $10,000.

Dallas Light and Sound assisted Plan B PR's Alison Volk in producing the Candle Room event, supplying flatscreens for the viewing party, model riser boxes for the fashion show, pinspot lighting, and hours of Hi NRG tunes from DJ Tony Dean.

Additional images compiled from photographers who covered the event are available by visiting the DLS facebook page at www.facebook.com/dallaslightandsound.
